Every Friday at work we update our timesheets. a time sheet is where you upload work that you've done during the week and how much time did you spend on it. well this is a summary of my time sheet. everyday(approximately 8.5hrs a day) this week I've spent on modelling families for the companies codebook.
SSH Design uses a codebook for every project that they have. this codebook consists of equipment that will be needed when the building gets built. for example a hospital bed or oxygen tank for a hospital. They place these families in designated rooms and this is done according to an assigned document produced with all specific rooms and all the requirements for those rooms.
every equipment comes in a different size and sometimes people find different uses for it. that is why this codebook is so important. it ensures that the right size equipment are bought for the different sized rooms.
All the modelling for these equipment is done in revit and all the information is taken from the description found in the document provided and the images used to model these equipment we simply 'google' them. we select the image that best suites the given description then we use that as a reference when modelling. the image provides us with information of the physical shape and appearance which is useful when assigning the equipment with different types of materials.
it approximately takes me 45mins to finish modelling one equipment and assigning it with the different types of materials but this all depends on the type of equipment some take longer and some don't. This will then result in a similar 3D model of the equipment and this then gets assigned to designated rooms and this helps to see what the room will look like when fully furnished.
